This is the first time in Pakistan; Pakistani artist has been invited to join the organization for her splendid contribution. Oscar winner Filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has been invited to join the esteemed platform by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences U.S.A as a participating member.
The Organization has extended the same invitation to 276 artists from all over the world who have made extraordinary contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The artists who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy’s membership in 2013.
On receiving the invitation Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy said, “Being invited to join the Academy of Motion Pictures is a great honor and privilege; I feel humbled to be the first Pakistani to gain membership into such a prestigious institution, and I hope that I witness the induction of many more Pakistanis in the years to come.”
