Taylor Swift wins 3 trophies at 39th Annual American Music Awards- By:Sanna Nasser Sheikh



LOS ANGELES: This is the second time when Taylor Swift was capped artist of the year at the American Music Awards. This show has been considered a artist of the year and gives a highest compliment that she received in 2009. She has been beat over the most competent super stars Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Adele and won all three awards including artist of the year that she was nominated for at Sunday’s ceremony.

 Splendid Star has been giving remarkable remarks after winning the trophy for favorite country album for “Speak Now” and also awarded the prize for favorite country female artist.

She said:  “This is so crazy! I ended up writing the record by myself, so the fact that you would honor it this way, you have no idea what this means to me.” 

Majesty of pink loving Nicki Minaj won two awards at this ceremony. She won favorite rap/hip-hop album for “Pink Friday. She has been cheerful remarked, “There’s so much love in this room.” 

Adele had been considered the most prominent nominee with the other four gestures. But she did not attend the ceremony because of her currently throat surgery. Adele tangled Swift with three awards: favorite pop/rock female artist, adult contemporary artist and pop/rock album for “21.”

Just talking about the other winners included Maroon 5 as favorite pop-rock band/duo/group, Blake Shelton as favorite country male artist, Lady Antebellum as favorite country band/duo/group, Beyonce as favorite soul/R&B female artist, Rihanna for favorite soul/R&B album for “Loud” and Hot Chelle Rae as new artist of the year.

Justin Bieber became in the holiday spirit among a forest of neon lights with “Under the Mistletoe.” 

Kelly Clarkson has been dressed up with a dazzling red gown with her hair brushed to the side. She had been performing a rocking version of her hit “Mr. Know It All” as tie-up dancers dressed as 1930s era photographers cracked the first-ever “American Idol” champ.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have been performing in a mutual guardianship of rapper Pitbull. He  was joined the former couple in a pair of separate performances. 

Lopez performed essentially a live version of a car commercial starring the “Idol” critic set to “Papi” with the car onstage before launching into her hit “On the Floor.” Afterwards Pitbull returned to the stage and joined Anthony for “Rain Over Me.”

Lopez shows her surprising expressions when she won the favorite Latin music artist award. She said, “It’s been up and down and just exciting and overwhelming and so many things.” 

On this mega award events numerous entertainers delivered splendid performances: The Band Perry sang an passionate song “If I Die Young,” a pink-haired Perry accompanied herself on guitar for “The One That Got Away” and a platinum-blonde Chris Brown simply sang “All Back” before being joined by a troop of helmet-clad back-up dancers for a flashy interpretation of “Say It With Me.”

Lopez joined a glowing-in-the-dark will.i.am for his new single “Hard.” Christina Aguilera dueted with Maroon 5 on their “Moves Like Jagger,” and then Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine teamed with Gym Class Heroes for their hit “Stereo Hearts.” Bieber joined LMFAO in animal-print pants for the show’s finale, which ended with everyone on stage including David Hasselhoff  stripping down to smiley-face underwear.
